Guided tour with translation into German sign language "Nature and German history"

Once a month and on special occasions, a public guided tour is offered in tandem with interpretation into German Sign Language (DGS). Hearing, hard of hearing and deaf people are invited. In the dialogical tour, educational speakers provide insights into how people have treated nature over more than 800 years of German history. They present exhibits such as depictions of the world by Hildegard von Bingen, a river straightening map of the Rhine and pictures of the early anti-nuclear protests.

The tour thrives on exchange and discussion between the participants and the educational speakers, with all contributions being translated into DGS and spoken language. The interaction with and view of nature becomes clear as a reflection of different eras and social conditions.

The tour can also be booked by groups and school classes.
