Guided Tour of the Historic Printing Workshop

The history of our print shop began in 1928 in the heart of Kreuzberg. At the manual typesetting stations, Otto Schneider and later his son Gerd produced print jobs for the neighborhood’s bustling business community. Printing was done using both letterpress and cylinder printing methods. The tour demonstrates how commercial print materials—from business cards and letterhead to wedding announcements and price lists—were produced right up into the 1980s. And it’s not just about watching: every visitor can pick up a “Winkelhaken” and set a short line—just as Johannes Gutenberg invented it in the 15th century.
