Guided Tour of the Historic Printing Workshop

The history of our print shop began in 1928 in the heart of Kreuzberg. At the manual typesetting stations, Otto Schneider and, later, his son Gerd filled orders for the neighborhood’s bustling business community. Printing was done using both the platen and cylinder printing methods. The tour demonstrates how so-called commercial print materials were produced right up into the 1980s—from business cards and letterhead to wedding announcements and price lists. And it’s not just about watching: Every visitor can pick up a “Winkelhaken” and set a short line—just as Johannes Gutenberg invented the process in the 15th century.
