Guided tour for children and families "All old stuff? Searching, collecting, researching"

For children aged 8 and over
How did a knight's helmet or an IKEA bunk bed end up in the German Historical Museum? What stories do these and other objects tell about the people who used them? The interactive tour with creative hands-on formats and research tasks invites children with and without their families to get to know different collection items, understand their materiality and trace their journey to the Zeughaus. Participants enter the world of knights, see evidence of travelers, hear the story of a room and can marvel at other exhibits. At the end of the tour, the question of how the collection of almost one million objects came into being and the idea behind the work of museums is discussed: collecting, preserving, researching and communicating.Translated with DeepL
