Female Body Image – Working with Your Own Body

Workshop with artist Ivonne Thein

Accompanying program for the exhibition "More than Beauty"

The workshop is aimed at women and girls ages 10 and up who wish to explore female body images in digital visual worlds through art. The focus is on how visual media shape and influence our perceptions of the female body and how we perceive our own bodies.
Under the guidance of artist Ivonne Thein, participants will develop their own photographic installations. In a hands-on, experimental setting, they will work together, stage themselves, and use props and accessories they bring or that are provided. All that is needed is a personal camera or smartphone.

The workshop teaches fundamental artistic strategies for image production while also offering a critical perspective on the mechanisms of self-presentation in the post-digital age. The goal is to develop individual, artistic alternatives to prevailing beauty and body norms.Translated with DeepL
