Simplified Lithography Technique

The exhibition “On to New Works! Max Slevogt, Bruno Cassirer, and Max Liebermann” shows the diverse ways in which artists around 1900 experimented with drawing and printmaking for illustrated books. Together, we’ll discover how a single idea can give rise to an ever-changing array of images through various printing techniques.

In the family workshop, young and old alike will learn about “kitchen lithography”—a playful take on classical lithography. Using simple materials such as aluminum foil, cola, drawing tools, and printing ink, we’ll create our own print templates and discover how drawings are transformed, step by step, into graphic works.

Regular museum admission applies (free for children).
