Family Tour as Part of the Vacation Program
At the museum village, you’ll get a hands-on look at how people lived, worked, and farmed their fields back then.
Explore thatched-roof houses, try your hand at using a flail, or grind grain by hand: This way, you can experience firsthand what everyday life was like for the rural population in our region around the year 1200!
Who were the farmers of that time? Where did they come from? Findings from archaeological excavations reveal who lived along the Havel and Spree rivers in the Middle Ages, how community life changed during that period, and why that was the case.
This guided tour is part of our “Magical, Autumnal, Colorful” vacation program. It shows why autumn was so important to rural life 800 years ago.
Tip: The tour is suitable for adults and families with children ages 6 and up.
