Talk with Michel Friedman, Dotschy Reinhardt and Güner Yasemin Balcı
Moderation: Sabine Adler
Germany sees itself as a pluralistic society in the center of Europe. But how do we actually deal with different experiences in relation to National Socialist crimes? How can a conversation across differences succeed?
In conversation: Michel Friedman, lawyer, philosopher and journalist, Dotschy Reinhardt, jazz musician, author and human rights activist, and Güner Yasemin Balcı, journalist, writer and integration commissioner for Berlin-Neukölln
Legacies of Occupation. National Socialism and the European present
The Second World War and the German occupation in Europe ended more than 80 years ago. But the associated experiences of violence still shape European societies today. At the invitation of the ZWBE, prominent voices will discuss these effects in relation to current political conflicts, long-term economic developments, social coexistence, culture and forms of remembrance.
