To mark the 300th anniversary of Daniel Nikolaus Chodowiecki’s birth, the Kupferstichkabinett, the Gemäldegalerie, and the Academy of Arts in Berlin are dedicating a special exhibition to the famous Berlin artist of the Enlightenment. The exhibition centers on the artist’s magnum opus, the etching and painting titled “The Farewell of Jean Calas to His Family” (1766–68), for which all three museums have gathered works.
Curator-led tour with Mailena Mallach (Kupferstichkabinett) and Anna Schultz (Academy of Arts, Berlin).
