One hundred years ago, the Scheunenviertel, with its many stories, was the talk of the town—a working-class neighborhood with a strong immigrant culture, particularly that of Eastern European Jews. Yiddish store signs, written in Hebrew letters, were a common sight on the streets. But what was everyday life like for the people here? This walking tour tells the story of life in the neighborhood from the perspective of its residents and highlights the shops, theaters, and gathering places where Germans and Eastern European Jews came together.
