Curatorial tour: "Fighting over stones?" | "Who decided in the city?"
Two new projects at the Museum Nikolaikirche explore the history of the site. In different ways, they explore the question of what it means to exhibit in a building that itself carries so much history.
"Fighting over stones?!" uses video commentaries on grave memorials to colonial actors to ask what significance such places of remembrance have today - and how to deal with them when they honor people with problematic historical entanglements. "Who determined in the city?" uses the example of seven objects in the permanent exhibition to examine the functions that the urban church fulfilled throughout its history.
The curators of the projects, research volunteers Leon Pschierer and Antonia Moldenhauer, will present the content and explain the background during the tour.
