Caputh Palace belonged to Dorothea, the second wife of Elector Friedrich Wilhelm of Brandenburg, and is situated not far from Potsdam in a picturesque setting on the banks of the Havel River. The original ceiling decorations, featuring paintings and stucco work, have been preserved in nearly all of the rooms. The Baroque works of art on display today convey an impression of courtly artistic expression and princely interior design around 1700.
