Sculpture meets street art, marble meets mixtape, display cases meet vinyl – an exhibition on everyday life

Look forward to the second edition of Culture Camp – a five-day holiday workshop for young people aged 13 to 19.

We’re heading into the next round with fresh questions, new faces and plenty of creative energy. This time, we’re bringing pop culture to the Humboldt Forum! How will we do it?

You bring the beats, memes and playlists – we’ll open up the spaces.

You have collectable figures – we have the display cases for them.

You share your perspectives on pop, media and everyday life – together we’ll make them visible.

Five days of creative exploration and creation, loads of fun & new people!

What you can expect:

The Culture Camp is a laboratory and a think tank for an exhibition on pop culture, coolness and cultural appropriation, which will be on display at the Humboldt Forum from May 2027. The exhibition will be aimed at people aged between 15 and 25. And as we don’t want to do it without you, you’re invited to get actively involved.

At Culture Camp, you’ll join artists and other young people in a creative process, developing ideas and designing contributions for a major exhibition project right in the heart of Berlin.

What that means in concrete terms:

Rap, beats & sampling

With musician Village Boy P, you’ll delve deep into the history of hip-hop and the art of sampling. You’ll produce your own beats. For an interactive sampling station in the exhibition

Graffiti, Street Art & Zine-Making

Together with two urban artists, you’ll explore the connections between the graffiti and street art scenes in Berlin and São Paulo. You’ll become experts in spray-can art, try your hand at it yourselves, and work on a zine designed to help others understand the history behind graffiti and street art.

Film & Storytelling

Together with filmmaker Ani, you’ll develop visual contributions for the exhibition. You’ll prepare and conduct interviews with experts. You’ll learn the ins and outs of photographic and film documentation and capture what happens at Culture Camp. Your work will form part of both the exhibition and a publication.

In addition, this camp will once again offer plenty of space for socialising and exchanging ideas – in chill-out zones, with tasty snacks and drinks – the chilled passion fruit lemonade is ready and waiting!
