To the special exhibition "Cassirer and the Breakthrough of Impressionism"

Claude Monet, Sommer, 1874

Claude Monet, Sommer, 1874

With his gallery in Berlin, Paul Cassirer promoted the spread of French Impressionism in Germany. Artists such as Degas, Cézanne, Manet, Monet, Renoir and van Gogh first gained wider attention in German-speaking countries thanks to him. Numerous key works found their way into important German collections and museums through his mediation, including the holdings of the National Gallery. A tour of the special exhibition sheds light on the gallery owner and his passion for art.
