BAU_M_ICH: Building modular furniture from wood

with Melinda Barth

BAU_M_ICH Kiste – Selbstgebaute Kiste aus hellem Holz

BAU_M_ICH Kiste – Selbstgebaute Kiste aus hellem Holz

In this workshop, you will build a versatile crate. The crate can be used as storage space, a table, stool or shelf and is the basic module of a DIY furniture set. It can be flexibly extended to create entire shelf walls, room dividers or playscapes.

In the workshop, you will get to know this furniture system and build your first box: you will be drilled, milled, screwed and glued with expert guidance.

If you don't have the confidence to build the whole box straight away, you can also start by building a wardrobe using the BAU_M_ICH system.

Melinda Barth studied at the Weißensee School of Art and is a freelance product designer in Berlin. In her work, she combines craft practice and social production with the telling of (material) stories and places particular emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration.
