The artist and poet Lauryn Youden works across the fields of sculpture, performance and installation. In her artistic practice, she draws on a growing autotheoretical archive to explore the medical-industrial complex, alternative and traditional healing practices, and the relationships between architecture, illness and the body. This research is grounded in her own experiences of chronic illness and disability. By presenting her personal experiences alongside queer Crip re-interpretations of history, her work highlights and promotes suppressed, marginalised and forgotten forms of radical care and Crip knowledge. In conversation with Director Kathleen Reinhardt, she discusses her artistic practice and her works in the exhibition everybody.
