What might the world have sounded like centuries ago? We can’t travel back in time – but music brings us surprisingly close to the past. Together, we’ll immerse ourselves in the soundscapes of bygone eras: from the first simple melodies of the Stone Age, through festive court music, to the cheerful songs sung in market squares and the elegant salon music of the 19th century.

On our journey, we’ll discover which instruments were played back then and how music shaped people’s everyday lives. And we’d love to hear from you too: what music accompanies you today?

Join Jörg Joachim Riehle on an exciting journey through time filled with sound – thrilling, surprising and guaranteed not to be boring!
