Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” is one of those pieces that makes you think, “I know this one.” White swans, grand emotions, a prince who falls in love, a touch of magic—that’s it. But wait. “Swan Lake” isn’t just any ballet. It is “the” ballet. And that becomes clear anew every year when Grand Classic Ballet’s winter tour begins. More than 40 cities, more than 180 performances—and every time, there are people in the audience who suddenly fall completely silent. Because something happens there that you can’t scroll past, can’t click away, can’t type away: You are “moved.”
