This dance piece begins even before birth—with the first stirrings of life in the womb. It is a tribute to life, to the joy of existing, of inhabiting one’s own body, and to the profound feeling of being alive.
But from one day to the next, everything changes. The protagonist falls into a deep abyss—a place of darkness where she encounters pain, grief, anger, and disappointment. There, she realizes that she must rediscover the love of life that once lived within her.
Thus begins a process of transformation. Step by step, she questions the rules, beliefs, and conditioning she has inherited from her family, her environment, and her own history. She lets go of what no longer belongs to her and finds her way back to her innermost self. Along this path, she discovers a woman who recognizes and accepts herself and consciously chooses to live an authentic life.
The world of techno accompanies and sustains this journey. With its power and its ability to expand perception, it brings hidden feelings, memories, and wounds to the surface. Movement becomes a language for living through these experiences, transforming them, and opening up a new space of freedom.
This dance piece stems from the desire to remind us that—amidst expectations, rules, and the influences we carry with us—it is always possible to listen to our own inner voice again. It is a journey back to ourselves, to the freedom to choose our own path, and to the joy of being alive.
Because sometimes we forget who we really are in order to meet the expectations of others. Perhaps that is exactly where the path back to ourselves begins.
