SUSAN ZARRABI, SASCHA ZARRABI & GEROLD HUBER

Geschwisterliederleben

Maria Anna “Nannerl” Mozart used to call her brother Wolfgang many teasing nicknames. They are certainly to be taken with a grain of salt, but they also show that even loving siblings can have their disagreements—especially when they are equally talented. Mezzo-soprano Susan Zarrabi, ensemble member of Berlin’s Komische Oper, knows a thing or two about this: her brother Sascha is a tenor at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. Joined by pianist Gerold Huber, the two artists explore the musical lives of famous siblings caught between affection and rivalry.

- Songs and duets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Fanny Hensel, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Nadia Boulanger, Lili Boulanger, and others
