Event Day with a Varied Program

A diverse program awaits you on the event day. Admission is free for everyone under 18 or eligible for a discount.

In Berlin’s historic Mitte district, exciting stories and hands-on activities await you. Look forward to a music-comedy duo presented by the Kinderphilharmonie, learn about the history of the Berlin Franciscan Order, and join our postcard printing workshop!

The hands-on activities in the Museum Lab and Salon at the Ephraim Palace, as well as in the Children’s Salon at the Knoblauchhaus, are free for everyone.

Maibishow: Tap-Dancing Violin Meets Singing Trombone
Violinist Marijn Seiffert and trombonist Gilbert Millich will delight audiences with tango, swing, and Hungarian folk dance. Musical sophistication, humor, and rousing tap dancing, presented by the Children’s Philharmonic.

A Whirlwind Tour Through “BerlinZEIT”
This family-friendly tour guides you through the permanent exhibition on Berlin’s history in an easy-to-understand and entertaining way. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try things out and engage all your senses.

Franciscans on the Spree.  Memory & the Present
To mark the 800th anniversary of the death of Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan Order, Brother Johannes Küpper OFM and historian Susanne Knackmuß will discuss this Berlin institution. Around 1250, Franciscan monks built a church and monastery in Berlin. From 1574 to 1945, the “Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster” was located there.

Insights into the everyday life of Berliners two hundred years ago. Back then, the Knoblauch family played an important role. Today, you can explore their former home as a museum.

Sunday in the Nikolaiviertel

On the first Sunday of every month, we offer a wide-ranging program for everyone at our three museums in the Nikolaiviertel. Families are especially welcome—admission is free for everyone under 18 or eligible for a discount. So look forward to great activities at the Ephraim Palace, St. Nicholas Church, and the Knoblauch House!

Our solidarity-based pricing model offers free admission to adults with proof of eligibility for a discount, including students, apprentices, participants in the FSJ, FÖJ, and BFD programs, people with severe disabilities, refugees, recipients of Bürgergeld or ALG I, and many others. Everyone else pays only the museum admission fee and can take advantage of our especially affordable combo ticket for all three museums. The extensive special event program is included in the price!
