Franciscans on the Spree. Memory & the Present
To mark the 800th anniversary of the death of Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan Order, Brother Johannes Küpper OFM and historian Susanne Knackmuß will discuss this Berlin institution. Around 1250, Franciscan monks built a church and monastery in Berlin. From 1574 to 1945, the site housed the Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster.

On the first Sunday of every month, we offer a wide-ranging program for everyone at our three museums in the Nikolaiviertel. Families are especially welcome—admission is free for everyone under 18 or eligible for a discount. So look forward to great activities at the Ephraim Palace, St. Nicholas Church, and the Knoblauch House!
Our solidarity-based pricing model offers free admission to adults with proof of eligibility for a discount, including students, apprentices, participants in the FSJ, FÖJ, and BFD programs, people with severe disabilities, refugees, recipients of Bürgergeld or ALG I, and many others. Everyone else pays only the museum admission fee and can take advantage of our especially affordable combo ticket for all three museums. The extensive special event program is included in the price!
