Konzert zum 90. Geburtstag von Zubin Mehta

The honorary conductor of the Staatskapelle Berlin is turning 90. Since the 1990s, he has regularly rehearsed and conducted opera performances and concerts at the theatre and with the orchestra, many of which have become true highlights of a fulfilling and harmonious musical career. To mark his milestone birthday, which Zubin Mehta will celebrate together with the Staatskapelle, he has selected music by two composers who have accompanied him throughout his career and continue to inspire him. Mozart’s Symphony in G minor, the middle movement of his famous triad of last symphonies from 1788, will be performed in combination with Mahler’s first symphony, composed exactly a century later. Both works capture the characteristic tone of their composers, and Zubin Mehta will bring them to life in his own unique way.
