Few composers have the ability to express so much with so little: György Kurtág, who celebrated his 100th birthday in February 2026, is a master of musical concision. With his Kafka Fragments, consisting of 40 miniature scenes based on the writer’s diary entries, letters, and notes, he created a piece of imaginary theater that explores nothing less than the essence of the human condition. Soprano Keren Motseri, whose impressive vocal artistry is well known to Pierre Boulez Saal audiences, performs Kurtág’s extraordinary work together with violinist Joseph Puglia.
