In this intermezzo, performer and composer Manuel Pessoa de Lima takes us on a musical journey to his home country of Brazil. De Lima's specially composed sound collage places the piano in a new context: the sounds are characterized by memory, resistance and the cultural reinvention of Pernambuco. The performance also ties in with an extraordinary ensemble of 17th century ivory furniture that was created in Pernambuco and is now on display in the castle museum.
