This concert focuses on composers who carried the tradition of the Viennese string quartet around 1800 to the major cities of Eastern Europe. The program features works by Joseph Elsner, Franz Gebel, and Anton Ferdinand Titz, whose musical journeys took them from Vienna to Lemberg, Warsaw, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.
