The Berlin duo "Ehrhardt & García" invites you on a fascinating journey through the world of Argentinian tango. Their sensitive musical interpretations of timeless classics revive the carefree, direct and informal character of tango before the era of the big orchestras. The sensitive and harmonious interplay between the two guitars and the expressive vocals opens up a unique opportunity to get into the essence of the pieces.
Sergio Uslé García, born in 1978 in Santander, a city on the Atlantic coast in the north of Spain, discovered the power of music 20 years ago while studying art and swapped his paintbrushes for a guitar. His artistic journey has been greatly enriched by the study of music, particularly jazz. For him, music has always had the ability to speak to the essentials of our inner worlds. He found the best expression for his extraordinary voice in the rich tradition of Argentine tango as well as fandango, copla, jota.Steffen Ehrhardt is a guitarist and composer born in Halle an der Saale. He became enthusiastic about music at an early age: he sang in a choir, learned to play the clarinet and piano and began to learn the guitar on his own. His musical path led him to study musicology and finally to Dresden, where he studied "Guitar World Music" with Prof. Thomas Fellow. Today he teaches guitar himself. If you try to describe his music, the most striking thing is his versatility. He plays classical guitar as well as electric guitar, in the fields of classical music, world music, modern jazz, contemporary music, film music and free improvisation. It is therefore not surprising that when he met Sergio, he was immediately enthusiastic about the idea of interpreting Argentinian tango classics and Spanish folk songs.
Since then, these two musicians have been enchanting audiences at their concerts with their harmonious interplay and an intimate, emotional atmosphere in which Sergio's voice blends beautifully with Steffen's more classical style, creating a unique interpretation of this extraordinary music.
