Albertine Sarges, who grew up in Berlin-Kreuzberg, is a songwriter and session musician. With her band Itaca (now Ostia), she toured exclusively in Italy for years and was invited to appear on “X Factor Italia”. In 2021, she made her debut under her own name. Her song “Free Today”, a piece about feminist theory and skinny dipping, was her breakthrough on British radio, helping the band land numerous UK tours and a deal with the London label Moshi Moshi. She is a member of Kat Frankie’s ensemble Bodies and regularly appears as a stage musician in Christiane Rösinger’s HAU theatre productions. Her DJ sets – such as the one following Christiane Rösinger‘s book premiere – are eclectic and characterized by lightness and grooviness. She likes it when tracks are “easy listening—but interesting.”
