Krista Papista 'Salamina'

Krista Papista’s performance Salamina is an experimental excerpt from her album Euro Divas that channels the fictional goddess of Salamina, an ancient city on the east coast of North Cyprus. Using handcrafted instruments and relics, Papista constructs a psychoacoustic ritual that combines electronic music with Mediterranean mysticism, Tsifteteli and dabke. The Cypriot artist takes us on a sonic jet-ski ride from the pink marble city of Salamina to the Armenian stars over Mount Ararat, guiding the audience through invocation, propulsion, and release.
