Just imagine: a summer evening in Berlin. You and your friends have your toes in the sand and a summer drink in hand. A DJ is playing electronic music with a dash of cumbia. As the sun sinks behind the lake, trumpets begin to sound. A Mexican mariachi band plays on a floating stage. And then it begins: The country’s best poetry slammers compete for your favor with their verses. Accompanied, of course, by some Rot-Weiss beach-style fries. That would be the best poetry slam in the world!

Six champions from recent years face off in the final duel for the Golden Swan. There are so many poetry slams and so many slam champions. But there can only be one. This is the finale of the finale. An event as down-to-earth as Berlin and as exuberant as a summer evening can be. It’ll be a lyrical sundowner, “Sex on the Beach” for language lovers, and—just maybe—the best poetry slam in the world.

The performing poets (in German): David Friedrich, Lisa Pauline Wagner, Tommy & Annika, Kaleb Erdmann, and Anna Bartling. Julian Heun will host the event.
