The legendary silent film, performed live with music by Johannes Brahms. A hypnotic journey through shadows, fear and romance. A sombre atmosphere, suspense and the mesmerising beauty of classical music: Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922, F.W. Murnau) transports the audience into a world of expressionist horror and intense emotions.

The music of Johannes Brahms – a contemporary of Bram Stoker (Dracula) – performed live by the Golden Star String Quartet augmented to a sestet and piano under the baton of the conductor Katarzyna Marek, impressively captures the mysterious, suspenseful and melancholic atmosphere of this silent film classic. Through the interplay of light and shadow, the film explores fear, loneliness and the supposedly invisible – yet ever-present.

This evening, chamber music, Expressionism and cinema will come together to create a special experience – and not just for lovers of classical music and silent films.
