The Europa Center opened in 1965 at Breitscheidplatz. Due to its central location, close to Bahnhof Zoo station and opposite to the famous Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church as well as the Kurfürstendamm, it soon became a focus of attention.
Europa-Center: shops, offices, hotel
On a space of about 80,000 square metres the tenants of the Europa Center range from shops to restaurants, companies, the Hotel Palace and even a cabaret theatre. The shopping area is distributed on three floors and covers around 70 retail shops and services. They include fashion stores, jewelleries, bookshops, consumer electronics, cosmetics, travel agencies and a money exchange office.
Special features of Europa-Center
Although various sights are close by, the Europa Center has to offer some attractions of its own. Among them are the building itself. It is a landmark in the City West and is highlighted by the rotating Mercedes-Star on the top. Moreover, the Europa Center is the home of the cabaret "Die Stachelschweine".
