Coronavirus incidence decreases: significantly below national average

Corona-Tests

The incidence of Covid-19 in Berlin has fallen again. On Friday, the value was at 445.4. A week earlier, the incidence was still above 500.

This was published in the current situation report of the Berlin Senate. According to the Robert Koch Institute, the nationwide incidence on Friday was at around 730. In a comparison of the federal states, Berlin has the second lowest incidence after Thuringia.

Hospitalization rate remains high

Within one day, 2850 new Coronavirus infections and five additional deaths related to Covid-19 were reported. With a value of 13.8, the hospitalization rate decreased slightly. However, the corresponding Corona traffic light remains on red. 6.3 percent of Berlin's intensive care beds are occupied by Corona patients.

Experts suspect high number of unrecorded cases

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts continue to assume a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI - especially because by far not all infected persons have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.
