Corona incidence well above 300 once again

Corona-Tests

The Berlin corona incidence is rising again. The value on Tuesday was 334.1.

This is according to the situation report of the Berlin Senate. According to the report, 4330 new infections were reported over the weekend. This means that Berlin's figures are still below the national average. For all of Germany, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported an incidence of 458.5 on Tuesday.

Still high number of unreported cases

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there is a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI - especially because not all infected persons have a PCR test. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.

Hospitalisation incidence stagnates

The so-called hospitalisation incidence, however, has been stagnating for days at just under 5. The value indicates how many Covid 19 patients per 100,000 inhabitants were hospitalised within the last seven days. On Tuesday, the hospitalisation rate for Berlin was 4.9. 2.9 percent of Berlin's intensive care beds are occupied by Corona patients.
