Sales of the discounted Deutschlandticket for apprentices will begin in Berlin in just a few days, according to the transportation authority. It can be ordered from transportation companies starting Monday (June 1) and used beginning July 1. The ticket is valid for public transportation throughout Germany.
In the state of Brandenburg, advance sales of the “Deutschlandticket Training Subsidy” will begin in early July, and the ticket will be available for use in the state starting August 1. The aim is to have the offer available in time for the new training year in 2026. According to the transportation authority, the ticket is based on the Deutschlandticket and will be sold to trainees at a discounted rate under certain conditions.
Like the Deutschlandsemesterticket, it costs 60 percent of the regular Deutschlandticket price; for 2026, that amounts to 37.80 euros per month. Apprentices in a dual training program can purchase the ticket through the “Deutschlandticket Job” program with a subsidy from their employer.
In Berlin, students in full-time school-based training programs, people performing voluntary service, and civil service candidates in career track 1 receive a standard Deutschlandticket with a subsidy from the State of Berlin. In Brandenburg, students in full-time school-based training programs and people performing voluntary service receive a Deutschlandticket with a subsidy from the State of Brandenburg.
