"I can only advise everyone to continue to wear masks indoors and in situations where you cannot keep the distance," Gote told the Berliner Morgenpost on Tuesday (June 07, 2022). "It's very important that we all realize that the rules continue to apply - including hand washing and hygiene rules."

Berlin's Senator for Health Ulrike Gote rejects a waiver of the current face mask requirement on public transport because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Mask and testing obligations relaxed
The Berlin Senate had recently relaxed the mask and testing requirement in retirement and nursing homes. Residents no longer have to wear masks. For the staff, however, the mask obligation continues to apply. At Berlin schools, the testing obligation has been waived since Tuesday (June 07, 2022), as the Senate Department for Education had announced last week with reference to the currently comparatively relaxed pandemic situation. The 3G rule for external persons in schools has also been dropped.
