The Erika Hess Ice Rink in Berlin-Wedding will soon reopen in time for the winter season after a lengthy renovation period. The district announced that it is aiming to open as soon as possible in the coming weeks.

Various renovation and inspection work has been carried out on the stadium's supporting structure over the past 18 months. At a cost of €1.8 million, this was slightly below the expected figure of €1.9 million. The outdoor ice rink at the Erika Hess Ice Stadium is very popular with recreational skaters. The hall is used extensively by ice hockey clubs.
