The Berlin Senate is continuing its efforts to improve the appointment situation in the Bürgerämter (citizens' offices).
Against this background, an additional citizens' office has been opened in Marzahn-Hellersdorf on Riesaer Straße in new premises and with more capacity.
The Senate Chancellery announced that regular operations will start there on Friday. This will also mean additional appointments in the booking system. The range of citizen services is also to be expanded. Berlin is thus further expanding its citizen services, explained the governing mayor, Kai Wegner (CDU). "The citizens' office on Riesaer Straße in Marzahn-Hellersdorf will create additional appointment capacities from which all Berliners will benefit."
According to the Senate Chancellery, 100 additional jobs have been created in the citizens' offices to improve the appointment situation throughout Berlin. In addition, a stand-in pool of 20 employees is available. A recruitment service at the state administration office is to help the districts to fill vacancies in the citizens' offices more quickly.
According to the Senate Chancellery, an average of 7,107 appointments are currently booked per working day. In the same period last year, there were only 6,262. There is also a positive trend in appointments that can be made in a maximum of two weeks. According to the figures, 81.8 percent of the so-called 14-day target has currently been reached. In June last year, the figure was 58%.
