DFB Cup final: Berlin Senate allows TV broadcast

Fußball-Fans

Fans of Arminia Bielefeld and VfB Stuttgart who did not get a ticket for the DFB Cup final can at least watch the final in Berlin in beer gardens.

According to the capital's Senate, restaurants with outdoor catering facilities are permitted to show the match "on screens in outdoor areas".

Noise protection must be observed

Only certain rules on noise protection for residents must be met. The use of "fanfares, drums, whistles and similar noise-generating instruments and devices as well as pyrotechnics" must be prohibited. The broadcast may then continue until 15 minutes after the end of the award ceremony, even in the event of extra time or a penalty shoot-out.

Many soccer fans expected in Berlin

Bundesliga soccer team VfB Stuttgart will be the big favorite on Saturday (8 p.m./ZDF/Sky) in the game at the Olympic Stadium against second-division promoted Bielefeld. The match is sold out with 74,036 spectators. Both clubs could have sold significantly more tickets to their fans. As every year, many supporters of the clubs who were unable to get tickets are expected to come to Berlin.
