The Elsenbrücke will be closed to traffic next weekend for a routine check and maintenance.
From Saturday morning (8 a.m.) until Sunday afternoon (4 p.m.), no cars will be allowed to drive over the temporary bridge construction, as announced by the responsible Senate administration. Traffic will therefore be diverted via the Oberbaumbrücke. Cyclists, pedestrians and BVG buses will reportedly still be able to use the temporary bridges despite the closure. Around 20,000 bolts are to be inspected and tightened if necessary, it said.
