Action fund for projects against anti-Semitism

Berlin wants to provide more support for projects against anti-Semitism.

To this end, the Senate Department for Culture set up an action fund and launched a call for funding for organizations that campaign against anti-Semitism with public events, campaigns, film projects or political education. According to initial estimates, the fund holds a total of at least two million euros, as a spokesperson for the cultural administration said. However, it is now necessary to wait and see how many applications are actually received. Organizations can apply from July 29 until the end of September.

Additional funding program planned for 2025

Senator for Culture Joe Chialo (CDU) said in a statement that Berlin projects needed full support "in these difficult times". "Our funding is not only intended to send a clear signal against anti-Semitism, but also to target areas where anti-Semitism and hatred are being successfully counteracted." A further funding program is planned from 2025.
