Laundry opened for the homeless

Laundry opened for the homeless

Homeless people can now wash their laundry and sleeping bags at the Berlin City Mission.

The City Mission's inclusion organisation ‘Komm & Sieh’ has opened a laundry for homeless people next to the clothing store in Lehrter Straße in the Mitte district, a spokeswoman for the City Mission announced. In addition, the City Mission offers free counselling sessions with an experienced City Missionary and counsellor to people waiting for their fresh laundry.

Laundry open three days a week

In addition to friendly and attentive support, we want to use the confidential discussions to show homeless people ways in which they can improve their situation,’ says City Mission Director Christian Ceconi. The laundry is open to everyone on Wednesdays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., on Thursdays only for women. A wash and dry costs two euros.
