Another two-day warning strike at BVG next week

For the defusing of a world war bomb in Schmargendorf (Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf), the police want to set up an exclusion zone within a radius of 500 metres. to defuse a World War II bomb.
From 9.30 a.m., the police are planning an exclusion zone within a radius of 500 metres around the site of the discovery on Mecklenburgische Strasse. Around 6,700 people will have to temporarily leave their homes by then at the latest. According to the police, four day-care centres and more than 30 blocks of flats are also affected, and several roads have to be completely or partially closed. This also includes sections of the A100 city motorway.
The Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district office has set up a hotline for questions from residents and those affected. This can be reached on (030) 9029-13778. Two emergency shelters have been set up:
Road users should avoid the area as far as possible. The following roads are affected by closures and restrictions due to the evacuation measures: Mecklenburgische Straße, Rudolstädter Straße, Ermslebener Weg, Kahlstraße, Barstraße, Brabanter Straße, Aachener Straße, Heidelberger Platz, Hanauer Straße, Triberger Straße, Siegburger Straße, Hohensteiner Straße, Aßmannshauser Straße, Nauheimer Straße, Homburger Straße, Johannisberger Straße, Binger Straße, Schlangenbader Straße, Rudolf-Mosse-Straße, Forckenbeckstraße and Falkensteiner Straße. The A100 motorway will be closed between the Schmargendorf and Detmolder Straße junctions during the blasting. Bus routes will be diverted around the restricted area. The underground line U3 will be suspended in the area of the exclusion zone during the blasting. The S-Bahn lines S41, S42 and S46 will not run between Halensee and Bundesplatz during the blasting.
