From March, tenants of state-owned housing companies in Berlin will be able to turn to a new complaints and arbitration body.
The ombudsperson's office of the tenant advisory company Asum advises these tenants on "all matters relating to the specific regulations and agreements", the Senate Department for Housing announced on Monday. Tenants can contact the ombudsman about issues such as rent increases or modernization projects. Wohnraumversorgung Berlin is supporting the project and evaluating it. "The establishment of this contact point is an important step towards strengthening the social housing supply in Berlin," said Building Senator Christian Gaebler (SPD).
