Improving the protection of witnesses: Berlin launches initiative

A low pressure system caused strong winds in Berlin and Brandenburg on Friday night.
The German Weather Service (DWD) is expecting strong gusts of up to 80 kilometres per hour, in some places in the north and west of Brandenburg even up to 90 kilometres per hour.
During the day on Thursday, the weather will be overcast and rainy. From the afternoon, there will be longer dry spells and some cloud gaps. Temperatures will be between 10 and 13 degrees. The wind will pick up in the evening. It will be stormy at night. The wind speeds will reach their peak after midnight. The storm will subside rapidly in the morning. Rain will fall in some areas and then move north-eastwards. The lows will be between 8 and 5 degrees.
Initially, it will still be moderate to fresh on Friday, with gusts in places. The wind will gradually weaken from the afternoon onwards. It will remain windy for the longest in the north of Brandenburg. In addition to clouds, there will be longer periods of sunshine. It will remain dry for the most part. Highs will be between 9 and 12 degrees. Temperatures will drop sharply during the night to Saturday. There will be light frost locally. The lows will be around freezing point. Otherwise, it will remain mostly cloudy and free of precipitation. The wind will be light. The weekend will begin with a mix of sun and clouds. It will remain mostly dry on Saturday. Temperatures will rise to 8 to 12 degrees.
