Start of primary school registrations for the 2024/25 school year

Starting October 9, parents can register their children who will be required to attend school starting next year for primary school in Berlin.

This applies to all children born between October 01, 2017 and September 30, 2018. The registration period runs until October 20. Parents must present their own personal identification documents, the birth certificate and other personal documents of the child at the time of registration.

Application for supplementary support and care possible

If parents also wish to have their child attend after-school care (Hort), they should apply for this when registering for school. As a general rule, children must be registered at the primary school responsible for them. Those who wish to change to a different school apply for the change afterwards. Senator for Education, Youth and Family Katharina Günther-Wünsch emphasized: "Berlin offers a diverse school landscape, and it is helpful to get information about the respective school in advance."
