School students take part in an intensive swimming course organized by the Landessportbund Berlin and the Sportjugend Berlin at the Kombibad Gropiusstadt.

2500 children can take swimming lessons and receive a swimming badge in Berlin during the autumn school holidays.
From October 23 to November 3, the Landessportbund (LSB) and the Berlin Senate will offer intensive swimming courses to school students in Berlin. Accord to a press statement, the free offer is aimed at students from 4th to 10th grade who do not yet have a bronze swimming badge. The courses last one week and take place in ten public pools. Inclusive courses for students with and without disabilities are offered in the pools on Fischerinsel, on Seestraße and in Gropiusstadt. Interested parties can register from September 22 on the website: www.schwimmkurse-sportjugend.de.
According to the data provided, more than 2600 students participated in the intensive swimming courses during the summer holidays. About 570 Seepferdchen badges, 1100 bronze badges and 360 silver badges were acquired. A total of 3700 students have already taken advantage of the free offer this year.
