Onlince vehicle registration now possible for commercial customers

Auto-Zulassung

With the vehicle registration ordinance coming into force this week, car dealerships, fleet managers and other tradespeople will also be able to register their vehicles online.

According to the Berlin Senate Chancellery, this makes Berlin one of the first German states in which commercial customers can handle new registrations, re-registrations and transfers of vehicles, changes of address and decommissioning digitally in full. For private individuals, this has already been possible since October 2019.

Vehicles can be put into service immediately

The online service will be available around the clock. Once the digital application has been completed, customers will immediately receive a provisional decision that will allow them to participate in road traffic right away - provided they already have the unstamped license plates. The decision is valid for ten days. According to the statement, around 1800 commercial registration applications are processed in Berlin every day. Martina Klement, Chief Digital Officer of the State of Berlin emphasized, "With online registration for commercial customers, we are taking an important step toward digitalization. Now the entire vehicle registration process in Berlin is digitalized."
