Around 3900 employees are on duty at the Berlin public transport company on Christmas Eve.
The buses and trams will then run according to the Saturday timetable, as BVG announced on Tuesday. On December 25 and 26, the Sunday timetable will apply. On December 31, the Saturday timetable will generally be used, according to the company. However, some lines will be offered more frequently or for a longer period of time at a dense frequency. "In addition, some metro lines of bus and tram in particular will be reinforced in the evening and at night. On several metro lines (U2, U4, U5, U6, U8, U9), trains will run at shorter intervals. On all lines, the trains are running at maximum car length," BVG announced.
