29-euro monthly ticket for Berlin until the end of 2022

Fahrkarten-Automat

Berlin is to get a temporary 29-euro ticket for local transport.

It is to be valid from October to December only within the city and is only available by subscription. It cannot be purchased for individual months. The supervisory board of the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) was in favour. A formal decision was to follow due to the short notice of the meeting, the VBB announced.

29-euro ticket as a transitional solution

The ticket is to be issued from 1 October as a subscription for the Berlin AB tariff subarea and will be valid until 31 December 2022. It is intended to be a transitional solution until a nationwide local transport ticket is introduced, probably at the beginning of 2023. The 29-euro ticket is part of the Senate's relief measures, which are intended to supplement the third relief package agreed upon by the federal government's coalition.
